We welcome violinists, violists, cellists, and pianists to audition for The Artists Program (TAP) Chamber Music Festival held annually at the Congregational Church of Manhasset. Each participant will be placed into a chamber music group based on their age and level, and will receive individualized attention from our esteemed faculty throughout the week. Students will also rehearse and perform alongside our faculty in one of three orchestras. Select chamber groups will have the special opportunity to perform in our guest artist masterclass.
Extended Day: Students ages 10 and older who are interested in participating in additional practice time and technique building should consider applying for Extended Day. Each participating student will receive two private lessons during this time throughout the week. Extended Day runs Tuesday through Friday from 11am to 1pm. Lunch is not provided, however, students may bring their lunch and eat together with fellow students and faculty starting at 1pm. Students are allowed to leave the premises with a parent/guardian during their lunch break. Please note that the capacity for Extended Day is limited.
TAP Honors Chamber Music Intensive:
This summer, The Artists Program is pleased to introduce the TAP Honors Chamber Music Intensive, an audition-based opportunity designed for advanced and highly motivated students seeking an additional level of artistic challenge within the supportive TAP environment.
Honors participants will take part in a daily intensive chamber music session Monday through Friday from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, working closely with esteemed faculty and from members of the award-winning Terra String Quartet on advanced repertoire and ensemble skills while remaining fully engaged in all TAP daily activities and performances.
The Honors Intensive is best suited for advanced intermediate through pre-professional students with prior chamber music experience. Faculty may also consider teacher recommendation. Please see the audition requirements page for more information on how to apply.
